Dear Bo,

Thanks for your 31/10 11:00 +0100 posting.

I hope my planned reply to Rog will clarify my "history lesson"
of 21/10 11:50 +0100 to you.
I agree "that classical economics is as faulty as the rest of
SOM's 'disciplines' and in need for an
update." I'd love to return to that. You once wrote something
about Q-economics. I had no time to ask for an explanation then.
Would you mind writing now about the direction you (or Pirsig)
were planning to take with this?

I also hope that my reply to Platt in this thread of 6/11 22:27
+0100 took away some of the confusion in my statement: "Social
patterns of value don't defend themselves with biological means
(warfare, police force, any threat or punishment)". On further
consideration I hold that patterns of value are not subjects and
so don't defend themselves or utilize means at all. And, yes the
experience (that is made conscious as experience) of "things"
like warfare, police force, threats and punishments can also be
experiences as being an element of the (essentially) social
pattern of values of exclusion of the "other", of that which
doesn't belong to the group.

You rhetorically ask "where will ...allowing the MoQ" [being an
static intellectual pattern of values] "to migrate towards
dynamic value ...lead to?" I'm going to disappoint you: not
necessarily towards a 5th level, but simply towards higher
quality static intellectual patterns of values. I'm expecting a
5th level sometime in the future, too, but a next level needs a
new type of "static latch" (as "matter" is for the inorganic
level, "DNA-replication" for the biological level, "socializing
the young" by making them copying the behavior of established
group members and "language facilitated oral or written lore" for
the intellectual level). The MoQ doesn't provide one. I don't
adhere to your SOLAQI-idea, I'm sorry.

With friendly greetings,

Wim
