What a pile of tripe this is!
Economics is not democratic; quite the opposite.
Economics is about making money; and as such there has to be an economic
hierarchy - a hierarchy that is not democratic by definition.

Having said that, democracy is an intellectual pattern and not a social one.
Democracy suggests equality, and equality is an abstract ideal.

So, to it bluntly, democracy cannot be defended or attacked because it's an
idea.
What can be defended or attacked is the realisation of the ideal, and your
mamby pamby vote with your wallet stuff supposes economic equality; which i
argue is not possible - if it where possible, then one would not need money
in the first place!

Capitalism and democracy are incompatible.
It is the incompatibility that generates the dynamic.

How to achieve dynamic another way?
One would require the clash between value levels?
Maybe we could knock it up a notch by simply giving everyone a high quality
basis for living; food, energy, shelter all for free?
Then people could compete intellectually without fear of starving if they do
not meet societies requirements of making things for no good purpose?

All the best,
Squonk.
