I've been thinking about this saying for a while. And I've been wondering
about it's origins and the meaning of it when it was originally coined. In
one case, it could mean what it means today, leaving a bitter taste in your
mouth because you know that it isn't really true, if it is true, it's just
because right is a meaningless term (SOM).
"Might makes right" is a quality statement, but it has an ironic tone. My
question is if it was always ironic. Does might makes right actually define
the biological level? Not ironically, but truly. Nobody messes with the
strongest animal. On the biological level there is no question of if life is
fair or not, might makes right, the idea that life could be fair doesn't
even exist. Not ironic, not questioning the absolute truth of the statement,
not feeling bitter of the implications, isn't that the mindset of the
biological level? I am not jealous of that animal, it has might and
therefore deserves everything it has. I have more might, therefore I have
the right to everything that I can take.
Without any ironic or bitter undertones, does that not define the level? We
all have a biological mind in us, we are all biological social and
intellectual beings. To me it's the social voice that gives the bitter
undertones, but the intellectual voice that insist, "but it IS true".
That one thought lead me to an awakening. Truth, we are still looking for
this here in this group, we are saying "Quality is true" where truth is the
goal in our search quality. We should be thinking "truth is quality". This
is what Bo is talking about, to really change, we have to change how we
think. The difference between "Might is Right" (biological mindset) and
Might is Right"(ironic undertone) is the biological/social barrier, similar
to the mental barrier we have to cross to really understand the MOQ. To have
that new overriding voice in your consciousness saying "but is it quality?".
The MOQ is not about quality being a "true" thing. The MOQ is about truth
being a "quality" thing.
I admit that I'm not there yet, but I really do see it happening.

P.S. I apologize to all of you who English isn't their first language. The
subtle meaning of what I mean is hard to express.
