Hi Struan.
Quality has been discussed by philosophers for thousands of years.
Quality is the concern of everyday folk going about their everyday business
all around you.
What is more, those among us who are uneducated, or craftspeople, understand
the vitality of Quality far more than you will ever appear to?
Those among us who are artists in the creative sense of musician or
mathematician; sculptor, politician or philosopher will have insights into
Quality when recognised and held up as fine examples of what it means to
share excellence, and will, if asked, educate you as to the vitality of
Quality.
Generously, these peoples will tell you how it should be understood that
Quality is not owned; for 'it' has us in its grip.
These peoples will have read, or will hear of Pirsigs' work and nod
knowingly; they will look and say it all with easy sounds of approval:
Quality is what its all about.
All the best,
Squonk.
