ERIN: I did hear that he uses a fountain pen and the part about when he's done
he is done. That is all I knew. I like his style. Another one of my favorite
authors Don Delillo uses the typewriter for "aesthetic" purposes--he likes the
sound of the keys.
ERIN: I realized that I was pitting ZAMM against LILA again, I didn't mean do
it again this time either. To tell you the truth I think his writing style was
evident before he wrote both but I just get a lot more out of LILA for some
reason. ZAMM wet my appetite and LILA quenched my thirst so to speak.

ERIN: What?? The other posts you made Lila sound like a flake with no
direction and now Lila is dogmatic and singleminded. I'm confused.
RICK:
>I've never been thrilled by the RMP quote about left-handedness you
>included..... Lefties are more creative and righties more rational?
ERIN: Don't read it that way (although there is differences of
left-dominant,right-dominant, ambidextrous). We all use all our brain all the
time but each hemisphere is working differently, right--holistic and left--
linear so you can think of yourself as both a leftie and a rightie (although
you may not be ambidextrous)
RICK: I don't

>back his views (Diana used to like to point out how Pirsig was suckered by
>Sapir-Whorf's 'Eskimo Vocabulary Hoax')... I'm going to need more evidence

ERIN: I am not sure what Pirsig said about that and what do you mean hoax.
What I know of whorf is he claim that language determined your perception and
the reality is it only influences perception. What is the "hoax" part? He just
went to the extreme, he wasn't completely off the mark,
