from what i have read it seems that the US corporate media is even more controlled than  australia's. for instance i understand that there is a new mccarthyism re : WTC s11 dissent in the media and uni - scary. some european newspapers have published articles asserting how unlikely it is that the official version of s11 is actually the true one. Indymedia new york (www.newyork.indymedia.org i think) actually has an article by american nobel laureate toni morrison which lists dozens of holes in the official line. for instance the company that made a fortune from united airlines options was not arab or middle eastern but american - its former chaiman is the executive director of the CIA - Buzzy Kronberg i think).
