I'm following the whole discussion with interest, although I'm a long way
from making a substantial contribution. If you wanted also to recommend

When I was watching the news a night or two ago (probably BBC), after the UN
guy had described Israeli actions at Jenin as 'morally outrageous' (or words
to that effect) the Israeli army officer put up to give the Israeli side of
the story was sat in front of a map of Israel. It was possible to see the
border with Syria, with the Golan heights shown as part of the state of
Israel. (The West Bank was too low to be seen). A small point, but not
unrelated.
