    From what you've presented, I'll suggest that maybe Pirsig's
thoughts on the classic/romantic split from ZMM might be better suited
for this sort of 'inquiry' into the nexus between technique and
creativity.
    The "static/dynamic split and 4 levels" taxonomy of LILA
might be overly broad, metaphysically speaking, for what your trying to
accomplish here (of course, since I'm not sure exactly what the essay is
trying to accomplish, its hard to say anything definitive).
    The scene in ZMM where chats with Deweese about Rotisserie assembly
(circa p.145) might be a good starting point. Phaedrus's exploration
into the teaching of freshman rhetoric is also a valuable source of
quality insights into quality in education (which is actually where his
whole inquiry into Quality got started).
