Greetings,

(Just how good are those filters?)

The idea that I can only post via others is infantile
playground posturing of the most absurd kind. What a
load of self-righteous nonsense; as if I would expect
others to suffer next time Horse loses control and
throws his toys out of the pram.

MARCO:
"We both know that under Diana another similar episode
happened. So? Maybe I've not properly understood the
reason for your words, let me know. Let me point out
that in the past just Struan guessed that Horse had
won a personal battle with Diana. For what I know,
it's just his invention."

SH:
Firstly, it was not a similar episode, Marco, as you
well know. Has it now become an actual requirement of
membership that one misrepresents, or is this simply a
corollary of over exposure to Pirsig? (that was
sarcasm by the way, just in case you didn't pick it
up) 'Mr X' made personal threats against Diana, which
went well beyond the confines of this forum and,
actually, he deserved a good kicking for it. The guy
is evil. Secondly, there is no invention from me here.
Horse always wanted the mailing lists and the website
for himself and in the end he got them. We were in
private e-mail contact with each other when Horse was
trying to appropriate the lists and he deliberately
signed up the domain name 'moq.org' well before he
finally got control of the site. It was a cynical,
shameful and fundamentally dishonest manoeuvre, which
is one of the key reasons why I lost all respect for
him. Don't misunderstand me, Horse is almost certainly
too stupid to realise the extent of what he was doing,
and he might even be blind enough to believe that he
genuinely wanted Diana to stay, but that really is no
excuse.

Perhaps Horse's take over would have been a good thing
if the site had improved and/or the moq had been moved
forward one iota, but check out:

MOQ_FOCUS - soon to be renamed MOQ_RANDOM_ADVERTS and
perhaps the greatest tribute to his leadership.

http://www.moq.org/chat/ - for chat that has been
'coming soon' for months.

http://www.moq.org/webring/ - interesting, but no
movement there either

http://www.moq.org/newsletter/newsletterbody.html -
ditto

http://www.moq.org/millennium/ - the most
extraordinarily badly designed set of web pages I have
ever seen, based around the ridiculous premise that
mankind has got it wrong for two thousand years and
will probably take another thousand years to get back
on the right track. Not even tongue in cheek.
Fabulous.

There are also some great new essays on the forum. One
in particular has some mad bloke asking Pirsig to give
him a call, so that together they can save mankind.
Jesus Christ. Literally!

HORSE:
". . . the MoQ as it is undeniably the most
significant advance in philosophy for many years.
Someday this will be uinderstood by many and not just
the few as at present."

If it weren't so sad, it would actually be funny. I
uinderstand (sic) perfectly. Linked with the above,
this millenarian eschatology is also a strong feature
of cults. (check out Cohn N - The Pursuit of the
Millennium: Revolutionary Millenarians and Mystical
Anarchists of the Middle ages; or Sandeen E - The
Roots of Fundamentalism: British and American
Millenarianism 1800-1930, for some fascinating reading
on this theme) The final piece of the jigsaw will
arrive after Pirsig's death, at which point Horse will
convince himself that Pirsig will return at the next
millennium, dispensing salvation to the believers.
When is Hale Bop next due?

Just to make things clear, I will post what I want
when I want, until Horse has the decency to ask me
personally to cease contributing. It is a private list
and Horse can regulate it as much or as little as he
wants. I don't actually care how badly a degenerate
philosophy is degraded by a degenerate webmaster and I
certainly would not break the law by sending mail to a
site that has specifically told me not to do so.

Taken as a whole, you really are a preposterous bunch.

Cheers,

Stru*n
