Elliot:
I support anyone who lsitens to pop music as following some sort of Quality.
Its those who create it who are pursuing dollar Quality rather than
artistc. Music, even if not talented or inspired, is still pleasing. Fine
musicians are like mystics, pursuing Quality through music rather than ideas
or what ever social mediation. Brittany spears hasn't written her songs,
the words are insincere and they nessicarily lose a little Quality (Dyanmic
Q anywhay), the reaction between Hot and ouch is slower.
Things take on a guady flase esthetic when someone attempts to add beauty as
a secondary step (Pirsig says it well near the end of Lila, i dont have my
copy available, left it at school). Because things are good, should they
not be better? we CAN do better than profit motives (dynamic social ability,
high social Quality especially for huge enterprises moving things more
efficently from production to consumption), social motives. Individualistic
(in a social sense), intellectual motives, intellectual Quality, is better.
Capitalism would nessicarily fall away (not be torn down by angree prols)
when intellectual Quality takes hold, dominates society.
And people realizing their responsibility as an individual, as an intellect,
will keep dictators out much better. even small scale corporate and
ideological ones.
ok, now good night,
Elliot
