Hi Bo,
You disappoint me.

I feel Lila to be a seed pod bursting with potential for new avenues of
creativity; avenues Pirsig cannot develop himself but hopes for others to
explore.
But you have reared up and cast a shadow over the pod. Weeds have grown thick
and consuming in the garden; Wilber, Rorty, heaven knows what else. Rather
than bend to immerse your fingers in soil to tender and nourish delicate
sprouts, you negligently deny light where energy and creativity is wanting so
very badly.
I understand you may be holding onto your q-intellect out of celebrity
status?
But that is immoral in my view.
You have failed to address my points regarding art and method - they don't
interest you.
You don't value them.
What can we do with q-intellect?
What explanatory power does it induce?
How does it explain the intelligence of a Dickens or a Shakespeare - an
African Griot or a Mozart? You have time for other posts but not these
questions. I see where you priorities lie.

q-intellect is not required.
What IS required is a creative shift in the philosophical assumptions of
ideas we already use?
We must take the aesthetic materials we have around us and apply a new
method.
That is what Pirsig is doing when he aligns Inorganic and biological patterns
with the object and social and intellectual patterns with subject: He shifts
the philosophical assumptions of materials to hand.
If you forget this then you take it literally and begin to detect a problem.
Once having detected the problem you begin to block the light - disrupt
understanding and create confusion. Having attached yourself to this for year
after year you cannot detach yourself without loss of social status - and
Pirsig has said much about that as a low quality evil.

This is one garden bed of plants you have made for yourself Bo and now you
can lie in it.
I have no social status and am free to do and say what i wish without having
to suffer the consequences.

All the best.
Squonk.
