Re: MD calling Bob

Dear Jock,

I don't see why 'calling Bob' (Pirsig) would create a better chance to solve
the problem whether evolution according to the MoQ arises from 'natural' or
'disigned/purposed' dynamics than would -say- 'calling Jock'. Maybe it would
be easier to reach consensus because of his celebrity, but his views would
not necessarily be the 'better' solution. That is why he does NOT openly
involves himself in these discussions (except with a considerable delay). As
he writes in the introduction to 'Lila's child':
'It was fortunate I stayed out of this online discussion of my books, Lila,
and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Not many writers get to read
a body of criticism of their work as intense and diverse as this. It could
never have achieved its insights and discoveries if I'd been participating
in it, dominating others with my "expert" opinion.'

To 'keep us from spinning around and around' is not very important. Contrary
to that: to keep the discussion moving is essential to achieve new insights
and discoveries. When we agree on 'orthodox MoQ' and just repeat what we
agree on when we apply it, it will fossilize and rapidly decrease in value.

So, tell us you views on the subject please, Jock!

With friendly greetings,

Wim
