Matt,PS for Paco
I am feeling this is going nowhere, I do not know enough about public an
private spheres and have actually no idea what you(Rorty) are trying to say.
I do not see how your common ground example of brotherly love can be related
to the topics we are discussing. I feel we are still disagreeing about what
the common ground should be? I have not been reading your mails of the last
few weeks to an extent that I am able to <see> what you or Rorty wants to
<show>. I want to leave this for now, if you are really eager to convince me
mail me personally because I also do not want to bother everyone by asking
you to explain everything again, maybe in the future when I have read some
things you suggested to me earlier.
About the level distinction, i am not too sure anymore what Pirsigs and
co-participators opinion is you will have to ask them, I feel the levels are
not distinctly seperated from the inorganic up.
About Heidegger, I don't understand why you said it did not mean anything
political at all since that was not my question. i just wanted to know why
heidegger is so damn popular in the Orient and Pirsig not does anyone know
why, since Pirsig is actually closer to the oriental spirit then Heidegger I
think. Does anyone know if ZMM and Lila are translated into Japanese or
Chinese? I do not think it is because heidegger is non-metaphysical but
because he's non-rational, there are some simmilarities between Pirsig and
heidegger maybe it would be nice to discuss that sometimes.
PS:
Paco what is your opinion, you read what is that guy called Nishiada or
something he has a school where heidegger is really popular?
greetz davor
