LS,
After a period of spying upon alle the Squat-writers, I finally (dear to) come out of my ambush and greet you all.
First I want to make some general remarks about the postings.
- it struck me that filosophizing in a such a way that everyone in the world (having internet)
is able to follow and participate in the thought-process, is something very particular.
I wonder if this is really the first time in world-history this occurs.
- as a remark to the former point though: one has to understand and write English, something
not to be taken for granted
- I'm amazed by the enormous post-'production'. I wonder how members keep up with the
abundant flow of information, coming at them almost every day.
- a squat-language has developed, with all kinds of abbreviations etc. One could see it as a
static pattern that is formed in the 'dynamic' conversation. On the one hand I guess this will
scare many others out of this group, on the other hand the consequense is a selection, that
maybe is necessary.
As a last remark
Sometimes I think that the discussion is to much 'philosophy pour philosophy' (as in l'art
pour l'art). Therefore I was pleased with Diana's post which initiated the 'advocacy' question.
I ask myself if the postings are just there for everyone to pick out significant parts for personal
use or if the object is also a sort of group-progress in which the MoQ really evolves?
Sorry for not sticking to the topic. I hope to participate more from now on, though more
concerning the contents of the conversation.
Walter.
