FINTAN DRAWS THE DISTINCTION BETWEEN INTELLECT
AND INSTINCTIVE MIND AS THE CLEAVAGE IN THOUGHT
Fintan, as i see it, the intellect is the instinctive mind. the cleavage is
between instinctive(animal) and social(makes us human) mind, relating to the
right and left hemispheres of the brain respectively. yet because this
cleavage takes place via a network of connections and interconnections both
inside and outside the brain, placing thought inside the brain entirely is
not a proper course of action. the brain may act as the focusing mechanism
for this action but it is not the producer of the resulting consciousness
any more than a radio is the producer of the music that springs forth from
it.
