Pirsig writes "the mystic has abandoned all static patterns in favor of pure
Dynamic Quality."

This quote in itself prohibits us from adding another level to the MOQ. If a
fifth level called mysticism is added, then what we are doing is attempting
to encapsulate Dynamic Quality, to turn it into a concept. This is the most
compelling argument I can give to any attempted addition via levels to the
MOQ. The mystic has already been including in the MOQ and has no need of a
level all of his/her own. Dynamic Quality is not a concept. Mysticism is
only a platypus because we are unable to conceptualize Dynamic Quality, for
as soon as we do, it becomes static quality patterns of value.

Instead of adding an additional level, the complex interrelationship between
the four levels should be further examined for clues to mysticism and the
face of Dynamic Quality. That's where answers, and more questions of course,
will be found, in my opinion.

Many best wishes,

glove
