Rich E.,

To be more specific about our disagreement, I'd point to two major
issues; your denial of the mysticism of Dynamic Quality and your idea
that static and Dynamic Quality are the same. I feel that I'm on solid
ground here because Pirsig is very explicit on these matters and he
repeats the point many different ways.

Chapter nine is especially focused on both of these issues. You could
read it in the time it takes to drink a cup of coffee. Have a re-fill
and read it twice. It talks about the undefinable aspect of Quality,
that is Dynamic Quality and its' association with mysticism and it talks
about the need to define some aspects of Quality and so he introduces us
to patterns and static good and such. I mean if you're honestly
interested in my reasons for contradicting your views, you'll see them
in chapter 9.

I don't mean to be lay, but I've already posted too much today and I'm
out of time. Hope we can "talk" about this later on.
