Mari says: i wonder how many people come here to the MoQdg not only to as
John says " to understand Pirsig " but to see/hear what others have to
say/think as a consequence of reading Pirsig, but wind up saying nothing
because they are in some way intimidated by the "style of questions" ( and
answers ). i was excited when i discovered that there was a place on the
internet where people who were influenced by ZMM and Lila gathered to take
the philosophy presented by Pirsig further. It took a long time for me to
actually jump in and post. i wrote an email to Platt who encouraged me to
say/ask whatever i wanted to. (thanks Platt!)

    Mari says:
i like your posts also Matt. i enjoy most of the contributers post even
when i disagree or don't understand some part or aspect of what they are
saying. i'd like to feel comfortable asking for clarity if something is not
clear and at the same time would like to challenge without getting the
Saturday Night Live: " Jane you ignorant slut you...." response because my
posts are perceived to be unworthy to be here....INHO there all to often is
this highbrow air that is not very welcoming to anyone outside the loop.
Does anyone else think/feel that this might be so? Come on lurkers, speak
    up! Here's your chance.
