I agree with your diffusion of the chicken/egg problem between spiritual
enlightenment/material security. Very insightful.
Sadly, however, it still brings us back to the questions of means. How
do we effect spiritual enlightenment on those who have material security
(and others if they somehow manage)? What role does the MOQ play in this
spiritual journey? Is the MOQ the only system to effect the necessary
arousal of social conscience?
Perhaps Matt is right in suggesting a public/private split to the MOQ
that Pirsig ignored or miscalculated?
