Hi Wim,
WN> Psychology, on the other hand, have to consider these three questions:
WN> 1) What do we have? (The possible answer is: experience.)
WN> 2) What can we say about it? (How can we conceptualize it?)
WN> 3) What can we do about it? (How can we become more happy, more
WN> harmonious and so on.)'
WN> Answering any question presupposes an epistemology.
After some thinking I must admit you are right.
WN> Answering 'experience' to 'What do we have?' implies giving the broadest
WN> possible answer according to the MoQ ontology.
I am not sure what you want to say...
WN> Answering the question 'What can we do about it?' presupposes a meta-ethics.
Why? The main concern of the ethics is moral, am I right? But I didn't
ask what we SHOULD do about it. I asked what we CAN do about it!
WN> What is the 'psyche' in your psychology? I.e. about what does pscychology
WN> want to know?
About a human. What he is, what he needs, how can he be helped.
WN> What should we do about the 'psyche' in your psychology?
We should help the psyche's owner when (and IF!) he asks for help.
WN> Are happiness,
WN> harmony etc. indeed the highest and/or most desirable goals possible??
It is no concern of psychology. Individual himself should choose his
goals.
And who is to judge what goals are the highest?
Thank you for your comments, Wim. They really help me clear things up
in my head.
Friendly yours,
Ilya
