The quality of an intellectual pattern is decided by each of us
individually, or so Pirsig argues with his like "paintings in a gallery"
analogy. So, your assertion that "evolution is a high quality intellectual
pattern" is merely your opinion. But, you seem to argue, if it's an
opinion held by a lot of people, it must be high quality. Belief in a
personal God is low quality because it has "low quality for more and more
people."
I suggest if you go by what most people think, you might be mistaken.
Just today I read in the NY Times that while most scientists believe
there's no connection between genes and race, a few brave biologists are
challenging that general belief.
Even among scientists who claim their methods establish truth, there's
often disagreement about the quality of the intellectual patterns they use
to describe the phenomena they are limited to examining.
