A religion that holds only a male archetype to represent the Divine is
doomed to impotency, masturbation, degeneracy and VIOLENCE. This is in
spite of the feminine aspects accorded his son.
Hi MarhaV,
In this, we are speaking of interpretations, or misinterpretations, as
opposed to Christianity. Right?
Keep in context that Christianity has within it many sub-sectors, which any,
and even all can be wrong, but is it Christianity that is wrong, or our use
of Christianity, or "The Word" to prove our own biased realities? Would it not
be the same with the Buddhists? Do the cultures not take out of it what they
want, as opposed to what Buddha actually said?
This is why I ask if there was a difference between mysticism and
spirituality. Does the church represent spirituality or culture? Is it the church or
Christianity that creates this opening for "impotency, masturbation, degeneracy
and VIOLENCE"?
Please also keep in mind that I am not arguing for Christianity or religion
over mysticism or science. An intolerance for science or mysticism would be no
different from an intolerance for religion. Religious intolerance of
different religions would be so as well. God is too big for any one religion. It is
God, or the Source that we seek, and where the traditional Christianity that
you are speaking of goes wrong is trying to put a face on God; to describe
God, or even the need to describe God.
This in itself is not even the worst crimes against Christianity or
spirituality by the church.
Wouldn't you think?
Chin
