No, I don't think you're overreacting. You wouldn't even be over-reacting
if it were hormones and a simplistic pattern of biological value, because
even at inorganic levels, love is at work and love should be respected.
Lila never mentions Love? Does it ever say what powers the dynamic quality?
I'd say that love powers the engine of dynamic quality, it is the motive and
reason for the ongoing pursuit of quality. To do what you should and be
moral. To love is to do what is morally expected, to bring the expectation
into being. Everything dynamic needs a source of energy, right? Or does
Pirsig think quality powers itself, that no power is needed to keep it going
perpetually?
