DMB quoting his guru Alan Watts:
> Those who undertake this task (transcend subjectivity) unanimoulsly
> report a vision of
> the world startlingly different from that of the average socially
> conditioned man - a vision in whose light the business of living and dying,
> working and eating, ceases to be a problem. It goes on, yes, but it ceases
> to be the frantic and frustrating pursuit of an ever-receding goal, because
> of the discovery that time - as ordinarily understood, is an illusion.
Here I was just about to donate a considerable sum as an act of compassion
to the victims of the tsunami in Asia only to discover that according to
Watt and his fellow enlightened ones that in the real world "living and
dying, working and eating, ceases to be a problem," and that "time" as
well as, one presumes, other "ordinary" understandings are "illusions."
So instead of sending money I will try to enlighten those who are
suffering by pointing out to them that it has been revealed to us by
mystics that your pain isn't really real, it's an illusion. So stop your
bellyaching.
Anybody want to buy the Brooklyn Bridge? Anybody?
