Arlo,
Good to hear from you.
> Excuse the interruption...
No apology necessary. I welcome your comments, even if I don't always
agree with them.

Wrong. I support conservatives because for the most part they are
anti-government except for those aspects of government that protect the rights
we are born with, endowed by our Creator.
> In our recent conversation, you said (and forgive me if this is not

I favor majority rule as opposed to rule by government dicta. Often
majority rule happens to coincide with my moral beliefs. But like any free
individual, I reserve the right to nonviolent protest when my moral
beliefs are opposed to legislation imposed by the majority.

Not at all. I believe in the freedom of anyone to express their views that
are opposition to the "will of the state." However, I don't believe in
deliberately breaking the law unless one is willing to suffer the
consequences.
> Or are you saying that when a majority of people vote for

Right. But shouting and name-calling is hardly productive, as I'm sure
you'll agree. If in previous e-mails I've given the impression that I
always support morality by majority rule, I'm glad you gave me this chance
to revise and extend my remarks.
Regards,
Platt
