Jo,
In response to you directly - doesn't seem right to keep plugging my own web-site on the MoQ - I posted on "creative destruction" just after the Tsunami.
You may be interested.

Hi Ian and all,
The intellectual level is creative. Is 'creative destruction' based on the value of moral levels? I eat eggs. I am concerned that my awareness is not proportional to my creative capacity. E.g., I do not know how to make and deliver weapons of mass destruction, but I can learn. I spent hours watching on television the destruction created by the earthquake and tsunami. I am anxious that I make no statement that would diminish the horror of the awful destruction I saw. I was not watching a movie! My question is can I sense whether or not the horror was moral? Is the financial response of the international community a reaction to a guilty conscience or is it an analogue to Wim's suggestion of a global social security system?
Is it meaningful to state that world wars are the result of the conflict between the organic and intellectual levels? It seems that the earthquake and accompanying tsunami were chaos. In retrospect, perhaps the social and intellectual levels could have lessened the loss of life. My awareness received a hit. Is there a global social order? Does the EU movement, the US, the former USSR, The United Nations indicate a possible latch of a global social order? Does global warming, prompted by a study of Venus indicate dangers to a global inorganic system?
Were the two towers a symbol of something that should be destroyed? Does Islam believe us to be promiscuous? People who can vote built the two towers. Warring Faiths are described as crusades. Is the destruction in Darfur greater than the earthquake tsunamis in terms of human life?.
More platitudes! The effect of the moon's gravity creates tides in the ocean. Was the earthquake the result of the moon's influence? Are forces from the moon interfering with earth's stability?
I wish DQ would latch a pattern. Maybe it already has and that is the difficulty.
I guess that is what we are discussing.
Joe
