    Dear Ham and all,

I think I am a Nihilist. I don't want to feel ashamed. I want to feel
free, and even encouraged, to explore it thoroughly.

First I want to say that I am not interested in such a serious topic
because I am depressed. Quite the contrary, I am in a joyful period of my
    life. Painting seems like Grace.

Thank you all for the input. Ham, on some of your thoughtful points I
don't agree. I do agree that this is a profoundly important
question. Because I don't believe in a separate 'essential purpose',
choosing from all purposes is possible. Whether or not freewill exists, I
attempt to choose quality. I will be forever grateful that Mr. Pirsig made
    it so clear.

I think everything is Goddess. Everything! But saying that means Goddess
does not exist. This thought rubs roughly against my Western
mind. Therefore, I need (?) to explore in hopes of smoothing out some
rough edges. Okay, many rough edges....

Again, thank you Ham, thank you Platt, thank you all.

    Marsha
