    Platt - I agree with you - had it been left to humans to care for her
    well-being, no doubt someone would have put a glass of water to her
    lips - but what we saw was a battle between highly politically
    motivated institutions. (One of those individuals would still have had
    to deal with the painful decision about whether the artifical feeding
    efforts were actually preserving any life or life of any quality.)

    As John Z DeLorean said 25 years ago - committees of moral men can and
    often do make immoral decisions.
