Platt Holden stated to Mark Heyman May 1st 2005:

    >Funny. You want me to read the whole of Chomsky, but when it comes to a
    >anything that exposes your hero as a fraud, you'll read nothing. That's
    >what I call fair and balanced. :-)

    Platt, Mark,

I think that anyone who has closely listened and watched Chomsky in a
lecture (as I did last year) would see that you are dealing with an
enlightened person. The patient and knowledgable way he spoke to his
audience and especially the way he dealt with questions from young people
certainly made an impression that twenty years of previous university
speakers (from both the left and right) did not. Chomsky is a man of
Quality. While the United States still produces such people, there remains
    hope for this world.

On the hand, when I examined the various right-wing media websites last year
in order to follow up their academic credibility (which they lack, btw) I
didn't come across a single speaker who had that Dynamic high quality that
Chomsky had. The only one who made any impression was Jonah Goldberg who is
a quite a comedian in his own sweet, twisted way. However, too many
Goldbergs around would eventually destroy this beautiful planet of ours.

    Best wishes,

    Anthony.
