Hi David,
Your letter to Ant seems to indicate that FoxLimbaughPlattian
political ideas have been written off " with the whim of a hat," or
dismissed as blinkered or prejudiced, no discussion required. I
think a careful review of this thread, as well as many others over
the last year, will show a thorough philosophical, political, and
historical debunking of such notions. For starters, take a look
at the "Biological Crime," thread of May-2004, as well as "MOQ and
The Moral Evolution of Society" and "Morality of Deadly Force."
Also, from November of last year, "Ill-gotten Gains," "Moral Values
in Elections," and "Creationism in Schools." You might also find of
the interest the "Understanding Power" and "Quality of Capitalism"
threads, December 2004. There are many others.
However, if you would like to begin a fresh defense of such ideas, it
would be my pleasure to engage you. That is, if your defense will be
comprised of argument and evidence rather than evasion, distortion,
and off-point digression.
Best,
Mark Steven Heyman (msh)

Yes! Let's stop 'just simply' writing others ideas off with the whim of a hat! Ant Wrote next paragraph: > (and yes, to repeat > what I realised when the latter gave a lecture at Liverpool last > year Chomsky is a great man of integrity and intelligence and > only the blinkered and the prejudiced could think otherwise). And finally: > As you know, I always side with high quality intellectual statements > so yes, there is no disagreement with your comment here. Ant, I can understand that now you have a PhD in your name under the MOQ you are filled with a certain amount of 'academic confidence' but I find the exclusivity with which you hold your views quite a shock and a little offputting. I thought I would just bring them to your attention here in case you were still in an understandable state of euphoria over recieving such a distinction from society and felt you ruled the world or something. -David.
