Well, I think this says a lot about religion, too. But it also smacks of what
they used to call "mob mentality". Not sure what the current buzzword for that
    is.

This is, I believe, MSH's central thesis. And one I agree with. Organizations
(public and private) need to be open to community review. Without this, the
possibility for corruption runs too great.

When you guys are discussing organizations..it's not just business right? This kind of reads to me that a mob mentality should be open to review by other mob mentalities. Or are you arguing that the community review would always be more intellectually driven than the organization? So what would be the guiding criteria to make sure that the community review is preventing corruption and not progress? What exactly is meant by community reveiw...who and how is it formed?

For example I am not exactly clear at how an orgainzation like NASA is reviewed.........is it by peers in their field or a general community review? Because in the latter case community review seems like it would be promoting mob mentality not preventing it.

I can understand scientists being irked that their decisions are being reviewed by non-scientists (especially if the non-scientists are also anti-science).

So it would also make sense that businessmen being irked that their decisions are being reviewed by non-businessmen (especially if the non-businessmen are also anti-business).

So exactly how is a community review selected to prevent "mob thinking". I would think any group is susceptible to it.
