Hi all,
Here's a little snippet that deserves a whirl on the Carousel:
the faux philosopher:
"The Iraq government was thought to have WMD by the international
community. Given Saddam's history of UN violations, his invasions of
neighboring counties and his willingness to use WMD against his own
citizens, reasonable people concluded he was a threat. (As for
napalm, what's the evidence?)"
msh 7-29-05:
Every one of these lies and distortions in support of the invasion of
Iraq has been revealed as such in many posts right here on this list.
Anyone weary of the Carousel of propaganda should take a look at the
"Morality of Deadly Force" and "Understanding Power" threads in
particular. If this does not convince you, drop me a line off-list
and I'll provide all the evidence you can handle.
As for the evidence for the use of napalm, plenty has already been
provided to the faux philosopher. After first lying about it as
usual, the US was forced to admit it when marine pilots and
commanders confirmed the story:

msh continues 7-29-05:
The Carousel of Faux Philosophy was designed for displaying just this
sort of constant repetition of debunked ideas, as if they were the
undisputed truth. This tactic of repeating lies, and denying
established truths, is right out of the Goering school of political
deceit, from which the likes of Limbaugh and Karl Rove are honored
graduates. That's why the Carousel features a drivelling elephant
named "Rush."
Hold to your hats, kids, and try not to get sick!

"Naturally, the common people don't want war ... but after all it is
the leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it is always a
simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or
a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.
Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of
the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they
are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism
and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every
country."
