have to throw in on this one:
1. we have more than enough food to feed everyone on
the planet...now.
2. more grain is fed to livestock than people.
3. the more vego the world gets the easier it gets to
feed em and the healtier and more peaceful people get
too. when you eat meat you ingest the last emotional
patterns of the animal too...hence halal 'peaceful'
slaughter methods.
the problem aint population it is resource consumption
and the degradation of the natural environment.
population growth is slowing and will slow more as the
world becomes more egalitarian.
oh and some humans regularly live to 120, 130 now
(hunza valley for one place). the oldest man on
official record was a chinese professor who died in
the middle of the 20th century aged 256. ah the life
of tenure!
and of course unless you think all ancient writings
have actually been put there by god to test our faith
in the three score and ten (adapted from bill hicks
christian dinosaur joke)....then there are innumerable
examples of people living for several hundred years.
now if we all live that long maybe population will
become a problem!
cheers
gav
