    Hi all, back again briefly

    some good points ian.

    Khaled:
    >1. we have more than enough food to feed everyone on
    >the planet...now.
    >2. more grain is fed to livestock than people.
    >3. the more vego the world gets the easier it gets to
    >feed em and the healtier and more peaceful people get
    >too. when you eat meat you ingest the last emotional
    >patterns of the animal too...hence halal 'peaceful'
    >slaughter methods.
    >
    >the problem aint population it is resource consumption
    >and the degradation of the natural environment.
    >population growth is slowing and will slow more as the
    >world becomes more egalitarian.

Some good points, especially consumption. I was just thinking about the
livestock issue while taking a shower (10 minutes long, I admit) this
evening. My brother and roomate are vegetarians, and while I still eat
everything, I do believe that we must moderate our meat consumption heavily.
WAY too much meat eating here in NA , at least.

I wouldnt say that halal is a "peaceful " slaughter method. The difference
between the conventional steel rod being shot into a cows(animal) head, and
halal , is that the animal must be alive, and then they slit its throat,
thus bleeding it. Its all the same in the end, but what is important is
the treatment of animals for the other 99.9% of their lives.

Also, by ingenuity, I do not refer to our inventions of various medicines,
etc. , etc. but being ingenious in the sense of the word itself. Creating
solutions to problems, with the future in mind. Something I found
ingenious, was the multi-level farming buildings in the Netherlands. You
can have 5 levels of farming, on 1 plot of land.....now thats ingenious!

Anyways, Im on my way to eat a FREE 64oz steak (if you finish it, its
    free!~!!!)

    take care,

    POOT
