    Hi Johnny,

    JOHNNY WROTE:
Things have a continuity because we expect them to. Or, they vary and
change, because we expect them to.

    RICK
You've got it completely backwards Johnny. The MoQ states that we expect
things to either vary (change) or continue (remain the same) because reality
has both static and dynamic aspects.... and NOT vice versa. In fact,
according to Pirsig, that reality has these dual aspects is the very first
thing a human being notices about the world...

    PIRSIG (LILA ch9 p 137)
If the baby ignores this force of Dynamic Quality it can be speculated that
he will become mentally retarted, but if he is normally attentive to Dynamic
Quality he will soon begin to notice differences and then correlations
between the differences and then repetitive patterns of the correlations.

    RICK
It's the differences, correlations and repetitive patterns that we observe
in reality which create our expectations!

    take care,
    rick
