Who the hell is judging anybody by what's in their bank account?! This
is getting frustrating for me, Erin, and I apologize if that starts to
show through.
ERIN: I know you have said this but just the idea of saying that a wealthy Christian is a hypocrite TO ME is judging the person based on wealth. I think it makes more sense to judge whether they are living their beliefs/being hypocritical or not by their actions. I get that you don't think you are judging a person by this statement but now can you get that I think you are. It's not that I don't read what you write...I just disagree with you. k?
ARLO: So let me just say it plainly, I don't friggin' care how
much money is in anyone's bank account. Wealth does not make a person
Good. I've said that how many times? Nor do I judge anyone by what car
they drive.
ERIN: Again if you saw an expensive car in a christian church parking lot you would have a judgement about that person (i.e. that they are a hypocrite). To me that is judging the person based on their wealth.

You can't make everyone a little richer, inflation would kick in and
although people would possess more money, the capital value of their
holdings would re-balance at just where they were at before. But as a
hypothetical, sure, I agree. Who's talking about wanting to make
everyone poorer?
ERIN: I think it is possible that technology could improve the quality of lifestyle for everybody and in that way I meant everybody would be richer. I don't think I got the impression of you wanting everybody to poorer but I think it gets back to the whole Amish and approaches/attitudes toward technology thing. In some comments it seems like you are holding the Amish as a good model but their attitudes toward technology makes me think it would bring everybody to a poorer place than a richer place. I know your comments have all been about materialism but I guess I am just wondering and not really clear about how technology and materialism are related.
