ERIN > Arlo says that he doesn't reject wealth.
> Arlo says that to be a nonhypocritical Buddhist/Christian that you
> should reject wealth.
ARLO: No, Erin. That's what the texts say. Unless you can show me otherwise.
I'll wait, just to see if you can do this, or if you'll respond with yet
another snide and deflecting comment.
Having to support what you say is a real bitch, ain't it?
ERIN: By the way I found this very unfair because you make it sound that what you say and what the texts says are an either or thing. I was asking about what YOU think and from what YOU said I thought that statement was true for YOU also. Are you now saying you don't think it is hypocritical for a Buddhist/Christian to be wealthy? Because the statements that you made about what YOU think have suggested otherwise in my opinion.
Stop hiding behind textual support and exploring what YOU think is a bitch aint it.?
ARLO:
What? You know, you and I aren't speaking the same language, Erin. I've
said my opinion, which is what I think, and provided passages that
support my belief. How is that "hiding behind textual support"? This
above paragraph is so confused and distorted, I'm not even sure how to
respond.
ERIN: Maybe the miscomprehension is due to an assumption on your position. When you said that you thought that to be a nonhypocritical Buddhist you thought they should reject wealth. I thought that since it is often talked about how Buddhism and the MOQ parallels each other I assumed you were suggesting that the MOQ supports a rejection of wealth. Also some comments you have made me think that you thought it was good position to take. So yes if you say that you don't reject wealth in some posts and that is good/consistent with MOQ to reject wealth then yeah I see a hypocrisy. .I am not really sure if hypocrisy is escapble....again these are new topics so don't have definitive/clear feelings about them.
ARLO: You know what, I don't even care, Erin. As far as I'm concerned, we can
just drop this. You win. I give up. You can opine and soliloquey all you
want, the floor is yours, I bow out.
ERIN: that is fine with me. I am getting sick of all these comments about my responses not being to your liking when your snide commetns have been far from pleasant to experience (and yeah I think that is hypocritical too.)
