Marsha,
Pirsig goes to a lot of trouble if not to justify what he is doing, at least
to explain that trying to put a box around Quality is, from the mystic's
point of view, a fool's errand. Any description of Quality is flawed. That
is why they say: If you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him! All we can
say about Quality, or anything else for that matter, is that it is kinda
like: (fill in the blank).
