What exactly do you mean by socialism? I'm actually genuinely curious. I had
this problem when I read Lila as well; I think Pirsig and I have very
different conceptions of what 'Socialism' is. I live in Canada and, while we
have a more robust platform of social programs than the US we're still a
capitalist country. I always thought Pirsig was talking about communism,
specifically Russian brand Communism with a centrally planned economy, as
being less dynamic. Just curious on your reading of this bit of the book.
