Hi Brian,

joe: I agree that being a predator is not reserved to sentients vs.
non-sentients. The most dominant predator on earth is sentient. I was
musing about the relation between prey and predator on the
socio-intellectual level.

joe: to move form the inorganic level to the organic level is beyond
gravity. Whether it is solar radiation or whatever, life occurs. I am
concerned that Dynamic Quality is portrayed as a pattern like
electromagnetic force. If Dynamic Quality is undefined, it seems to me I
know the undefined, not after the fact, but as a basis for my actions. Is
knowing the undefined essential to my action? Is undefined dq present in
every pattern? Only a sentient has to ask these questions to communicate
with other sentients in word patterns.

joe: I accept your description of evolution, with the reservation that there
remains something undefined in evolution.

joe: Sentients are ferocious predators by being able to figure out the
patterns of the movements of prey. They then create a suitable weapon and
lie in wait.
Communication is used in the social, intellectual orders. Communication is
improved if patterns, words, are used for communication instead of gestures
and grunts. In writing I use words to communicate. I want my words to be
known by another.
"lie in wait and destroy whoever uses that pattern"
joe: Thinking of predators this statement was paranoia on my part about
discussing things which are difficult. A voice in my head says maybe I am
wrong and my value is lessened by being caught in a word trap.
