Hi David,
Probably the best place to start rummaging in the archives, if you were so inclined, is with my
'systematic about the sophists (essentialism)' post of Tue Dec 17 2002 - 13:17:46 GMT. That explains
my objection to DMB. Now whether Pirsig actually is essentialist in that sense we can talk about
further, but I think the standard MoQ, with intellect at the summit, does perpetuate some
neo-Platonist tendencies. That's why I devised my 'eudaimonic' alternative. If you explore that
thread (before and after) you'll see where I'm coming from.
