    Matt

Thanks for that. In Europe, off the back of Derrida, there
is more and more talk about a theological/religious turn
in post-modernism. I have noted Patrick's talk about our
global, political, moral and technological problems. Increasingly
Heidegger's hint that only the last god can save us, seems to be
the only prospect worth investigating. I also feel that such a god
will have to be one that does without institutions and priesthoods.

    regards
    David M

Neo-Pragmatism, and Religion : Conversations with Richard Rorty (ed. by
Charley D. Hardwick & Donald A. Crosby) that pulls out some of the
consequences of Rorty's philosophy with concern to religion. Very good
stuff. In particular, there's a great piece by David L. Hall (who also
wrote my favorite exposition of Rorty) on pragmatism and mysticism.
