If you think that the waning influence of Christianity in the Western
world is due to the rise of moral-free scientism, then I suppose you
can say Murray's argument is anti-intellectual. I think Pirsig
demonstrates with the MOQ, however, that one can be intellectual and
still know and/or acknowledge mystical reality.
Have I come anywhere close to addressing your questions?
