    Hello Mark-Squonk
About me not accommodating art, I don't want it to be part of the
static hierarchy that's all. Your Intellect where all things are is not my
view of it and not the place for aesthetics. Now, I had written a reply to
your last comment, but dropped it, but here it is ...for your benefit.

Mark 19-11-03: For your benefit: We must make a distinction between: 1. Art
(Dynamic). 2. The (static) products of Art. Thus, Intellect in motion is a
Dynamic artistic activity, while the static repertoire from which new art is
created is the sum total of all previous Dynamic intellectual activity.
Truth is part of the static repertoire, and it is an Artistic creation, like
    subjects and objects.

About big TRUTH you may be right, I should have said: "Intellect's
value of an objective reality independent of subjective opinion ...etc."

Mark 19-11-03: The assertion of an objective reality is a static intellectual
pattern of value created by a Dynamic process in response to Quality. When
you say, 'Intellect's value of...' you are saying Value's value of value, which
    is daft.

    > It is merely one Intellectual assertion.

In my opinion "Truth" is too grand, it does not belong in the static
realm, but is another Quality facet.

Mark 19-11-03: On the contrary, Truth is always a static concept - it is the
static product of Artistic intellectual activity. The best truth is
    identified by it's beauty.

    > Another intellectual

If Intellect is to be a static level it's "assertions" cannot contradict
themselves. One pattern can't say that "Quality is Reality", while
another says "Truth is ..." and a third: "Art is ..." As said I believe that
both None of these are intellectual patterns. Quality is what creates
ALL static manifestations, and Art and Truth are facets of the Quality
    jewel.

Mark 19-11-03: If you make a distinction between Art (Dynamic creativity) and
its products (static patterns) there is no contradiction - Dynamic creativity
cannot contradict itself, but it can, and does create everything, every last
bit of it. The 'mechanism' for this, and a definition of beauty is found in,
    'The edge of chaos'.

    > When a physicist writes a book entitled, 'The elegant Universe'

No doubt many have had quality-like insights, but none other than
Pirsig has worked out a metaphysics from it.

    Bo.

Mark 19-11-03: The products of Quality insights (elegant mathematical
concepts) hover at the 'sweet spot' of SQ-SQ tension - beauty. We can talk about Art,
beauty and elegance because Pirsig gave us a vocabulary, based upon the MoQ,
    with which to do so.
Your metaphysics, as you indicate yourself, is '...not the place for
aesthetics.' I would suggest for your benefit that a metaphysics of Quality without
aesthetic appeal is diametrically opposed to that upon which it is based.

    All the best,
    Mark
