Your narrative is a (neo-)pragmatist one and is supposed to prevent falling back on the latch of Cartesian epistemology. It requires questions that are answered differently by neo-pragmatism and Cartesianism. Which are these questions?
Matt:
Off the top of my head:
Is metaphysics optional?
Is epistemology optional?
Must we answer the skeptic?
Must we provide a foundation for the other disciplines?
Must we sketch the boundaries of possibility?
Must we search for the ahistorical?
Must we treat Knowledge, Truth, Morality, etc., as objects of inquiry?
etc., etc.
The list could go on and on, depending on all the many variations of Platonism, Cartesianism, and/or Kantianism.
