Platt,
Here are some facts. Saddam Hussein was the CIA's man in Iraq for many years before he seized power in 1979, with US approval. In 1980 he invaded Iran with US encouragement and arms. In 1983 he hosted Donald Rumsfeld in Baghdad, and agreed to contract exclusively with American suppliers. In 1984 the US Commerce Department issued a license for export of aflatoxin to Iraq for use in biological weapons. In 1988 the Kurds in Halabja were gassed. Where was the outrage then? Haven't you ever wondered why, suddenly, Saddam became such a monster? We have ignored him and his atrocities for years. In fact, we have encouraged and abetted them. And please don't say he was part of the 9/11 terrorist plot, there is no evidence real or otherwise to suggest that. We allowed him to stay in power as long as it served our purposes, it's as simple as that, and when the negative for US outweighed the positive, he had to go. There were varied reasons for our invasion of Iraq, none of which were stated
publicly. The reasons given to the public don't hold up when scrutinized carefully, and/or with the current lack of evidence to uphold them.

Prove it. Those who make assertions are obligated to justify them with
facts. Repeating the liberal party line doesn't count as evidence.
