It sounds to me that if the Left-brain operates as the logical Observer and
the Right-brain operates at the level of feelings-intuitions, then Dynamic
Quality might indeed be sourced (or experienced) in the Right-brain, but
since Static Quality is recorded at an unobservable level (so far as we can
tell), Static Patterns might be recorded by yet another part of the brain.
If we consider that the architecture of "modern" Computers is likely an
evolving attempt by man to emulate the human brain, then we could see the
Right-brain as Real-time Analog and connected to sensors and we could see
the Left-brain providing both digital time slices of the analog signals and
the processing of that digital data.
I would suspect that both the Left-brain and the Right-brain might provide
Static Pattern Data to a Third part of the brain for recording or maybe the
Right-brain can also sense the Left-brain activity and record (or more
likely submit to a Recorder-brain) analog sensory data integrated together
with analog conversion of the Left-brain's digital-like results.
Another reason that I don't see the Left-brain making the Static Patterns is
the phenomena of Parkinson Disease patients loosing the automatic response
capability and they having to purposely think about a movement in order to
effect it successfully. Of course, this phenomena actually addresses the
retrieval and use of stored learned responses and not the actual recording
and it is not clear if these stored learned responses have any connection
with Static Patterns in the MOQ sense.
Another brain-thinking model that has similar dynamics is the Transactional
Analysis model that categorizes the brain and thinking into three parts
named Parent, Adult, and Child. The Child being the most primitive is the
source of intuition and feelings. The Adult is the developed logical source
of logical computation. The Parent is the source of stored conclusions and
Shoulds and Should-nots.
Not that I disagree with the premise of the power of Right-brain processing,
but I do feel (hmm, is that Right-brain) a concern that within the premise
is a total discount of the Left-brain that some have extrapolated into a
rationale for the use of drugs which have the potential of crippling both
the Left-brain and the Right-brain to the point of loosing the abilities of
reacting positively, productively, and safely to the real physical external
environment.

Subject: MD Right-brain source of DQ ?
All,
Found an interesting article on the net about how our left/right brain
operate. This study was pioneered by Tim Galleway in the early 70's( i
remember reading about it in ReadersDigest a long time ago). Take a look at
http://www.marceline.k12.mo.us/~portfolio/1997/~Colbert/brain.html
To summarize, the paper indicates that while the left brain is primarily
responsible for controlled learning, memory and making sense about logical
info around us,the much underrated right brain has awesome programs for
learning, but it doenst remember in words, it remembers in
feelings,intuitons.
Tim Galleway suggests that by shutting of the left brain and giving the
right brain a free reign, people can perform at thier peak level. Tennis
players playing in their comfort Zone,Basket-ball players having hot-hands,
the feeling when people feel lost in doing some activity without time and in
harmony...are just some of the activities that are done when the right
hemisphere takes charge ( I guess Mark's Edge of Chaos talks a lot about
these phenomenons)
I remember J krishnamurthy saying something about "Observing without the
observer" in his "Awakening of Intelligence" awakens Intelligence,I guess in
Tim's language that would translate to"Observing only through the right
brain".In MOQ terminology isnt it like the left brain is what makes the
static patterns?, or rather it contains these static patterns And the Right
brain the source of Dynamic quality ?? Any thoughts on this ?
thanks
