i think that we as a people tend to try to classify and objectify things that
shouldn't be. i think there's no need/reason to try to determine which
religion is best, which composer is best, which anything is best. i mean, the only
reason i can think of why one would want to rank the religions is to make sure
one didn't get gypped. "oh i'm a (blank). i have the best religion, i'm not
missing out on anything."
it would never work anyways. if the religions were officially denominated and
the list was publicised, people would go nuts, as i'm sure you all can
imagine. i think that, as humans, we've meddled in a far too great number of
things...why don't we leave this one alone. it's not really necessary. it's just
another vice for competetion, extreme type A behavoir, etc. "mom, i got in a fight
at school with Billy cuz he said his religion is better than mine..." or "in
the Winter Olympics 2008: curling, snow-man making, and the Religous Battle to
the Death; witness the #1. Christians take on the #5. Jews!"
i, for one, don't think we need to go there.
