I think DQ is the "Q-force". The trick to avoiding degeneracy is that
there has to be a static latch to maintain the new value pattern. I
sense a lot of opinion that DQ is 'good' and SQ is 'bad'. This type of
thinking can actually INCREASE the degeneracy problem, because SQ
provides the stability in the metaphysical hierarchy. It is very much a
ratcheting process. Static pattern 'Foo' is no longer sufficient, so DQ
provides a number of evolutionary mutations. One of which, Dynamic
Pattern 'Bar' proves to be the most successful. There MUST be a static
latch to Static Pattern 'Bar' to keep from sliding back to Static
Pattern 'Foo'. Social or intellectual "restrictions" can be seen as the
static latch of previous patterns which DQ is trying to overcome.
Eventually, once the new static pattern has become outmoded, it will be
seen as restrictive and new DQ patterns will emerge. And so on, and so
on...
