But what if "trash can music" effects a person unlike any Mozart music

Who's to say anything is better than anything else?
i'd say it's certainly much more original.
Originality means quality? Framing a piece of shit and hanging it on your
wall will certainly be "original."
take john cage, for

Never heard of him. Who is John Cage and why should I care?
but i think this kind of goes to back the discussion about "which

Who's to say anything is better than anything else?
Platt
not very art savvy, are we Platt? John Cage was the guy who said there is
music everywhere, that we can look for it in nature rather than ourselves. he
said, in regards to his piece 4'33", "i have nothing to say, and i am saying it".
4'33" is a piano piece he wrote in which the performer sits down at the piano
and plays absolutley nothing for 4 minutes and 33 seconds (he times himself
with a stopwatch). the "music", acccording to Cage, is the ambient
sounds-whatever the audience does (you can actually buy recordings of it). also he has a
piece entitled "speech." it's a piece for "five radios and reader." five people
walk around the stage and in the audience seemingly randomly tuning the
radios to different stations, messing with the volumes, etc., while someguy speaks
arbitrarily into the microphone. some people hated him. some people, like
myself, consider him a genius in the same caliber as Bach.
and as for the piece of shit on the wall, have you ever heard of Dechampes?
